POI was founded on 27th March 2013 by Lorinda Jane and operates on a voluntary basis.​

How we help consumers

  • Raise awareness and educate about the impacts of unregulated Palm Oil production and how often it is used in every day household products.
  • Educate consumers how to identify palm oil content in products and inform consumers about the certification status used in such products.
  • Educate about the various palm oil supply chains and the complexity of certification and palm oil usage.
  • Find, investigate and expose products that hide palm oil as an ingredient to consumers.
  • Campaign for 'truth in labeling for all oils.
  • Give consumers the tools to identify palm content and status of palm used.

How we help brands

  • Instruct how to check the palm oil certification status they are using from palm oil suppliers and producers.
  • Help understand the supply chain options.
  • Assist in directing to ethical supply.
  • Instruct how to check if the ingredients they are using contain palm content and if they do direct how to source ethically.
  • Support brands using ethical supply.

How we help the cause

  • We place pressure on brands to use only fully certified palm oil and remove deforestation from their supply chain.
  • Regulate palm oil sourcing and production.
  • Support conservation efforts.
  • Assist NGO's 
  • Raise awareness.
  • Report brands to the RSPO that make misleading or false claims about certified plam oil usage or breach RSPO guidelines.
  • File reports with the ACCC and or Department of Consumer Affairs against brands or ingredient manufacturers who deliberately mislead consumers regarding palm oil content in their products.
